Destroy with a vengeance
I loved the triumph Blu-Ray edition. I have not seen the Collector's Edition yet, but they own added so much more to this. Reboot is never-to-be-forgotten!
I like James Restraints as much as the next guy. I've read a couple of Ian Fleming's novels, drink seen all the films (many in the theater), and have all the box set DVDs. I don't reckon with myself obsessive, however, Bond to me has always been a bit of a gambol--adrenaline style entertainment. From the serious Tie to the cheesy Bond, there's always some action or outrageousness to wonder. So I was mystified when so many people were of course indignant that Daniel Craig was signed for the r. I'm not saying I supported the ouster of Brosnan, I'm just saying I was on cloud nine that a talented actor was taking his place. And the impression of rebooting the series wasn't controversial to me, but an ingenious way to reinvigorate the franchise.Now having seen "Casino Royale," I tolerate firm in my opinion that Craig makes an omit 007 (even though he's blonde and not Clive Owen). It's bold, baby!
"Cleopatra Jones and the Casino of Gold" was my entrance into the "Blaxploitation" film genre. In this murkiness, Tamara Dobson stars as a statuesque African-American cryptographic agent woman. She teams up with an Asian missus named Mi Ling (played by Tanny) in order to deliverance two undercover agents from the clutches of the Dragon Lady (Stella Stevens), a casino-owning medicate pusher. Written by William Tennant, the film is directed by Chuck Bail."Cleo" is extreme of outrageous costumes, hip dialogue, action, and funky music composed by Dominic Frontiere (starting with the vernissage credits song, "Playing with Fire"). There is a equitable amount of graphic violence. Cleo is a fun character; she's order of like an African-American female James Cords (in fact, I found the tone and pacing of this shoot to be similar to that of the Bond flicks of this things period). A chief transfer for a terrific movie
Some things are frankly mystifying in all directions this DVD release and the movie itself in terms of its intoxicated quality. In 1975, most film stock was somewhat poor, especially for budget productions. Casino of Gold looks like an A-index production with great film quality, camera travail, lighting, etc. and the DVD release is sharp as a tack. Someone somewhere categorically applied themselves to this transfer because I've seen Blu-ray releases of 70s films that don't look more as good as this. Worth every penny, you would be without even trying justified in thinking it's high-def if you saw it unawares.We all know Tamara Dobson owned this r, but Norman Fell is terrific and under-used as her unrealistic boss.The DVD quality is so good I'm tempted to give 5 stars but in the end this is a guilty pleasure, not high art. Strongly recommended still.

A devoted gem
This talkie only gets better with multiple viewings. Although this is a follow-up you do not have to watch the first movie, simply titled, Cleopatra Jones, to cotton on to Casino of Gold. For various reasons a third movie was not made. From and have a great time watching a great action veil.
